Internship and Industrial Placement

Depending on the companies’ preferences in offering the internships or placements, they could be paid or not paid.

For instance the internship provided by the CLP Power Hong Kong Limited is paid, students who have been selected for the job need to provide official document(s) to confirm their “student intern” status under the Minimum Wage Ordinance (MWO). An approximate salary range of the internships (Glassdoor, n.d.) offered at CLP Hong Kong Limited is about $5700 to $6200. Whereas the Overseas Internship offered by the Centre of Development and Resources for Students, The University of Hong Kong may be paid or unpaid depending on the organization.
